The Division of Physiotherapy and Physician Associate is seeking to recruit a Lecturer / Lecturer (Education) to its Physiotherapy Team, based within the College of Health and Life Sciences. We are seeking applications from both academia and clinical practice. This encompasses academics with excellent research profiles that will enhance the reputation of the Division through research and world class academic publications (see Lecturer (Teaching/Research) job description); as well as enthusiastic Physiotherapists with a CPD portfolio commensurate with research led clinical practice and education (see Lecturer (Education) job description). We welcome applications from Physiotherapists with professional experience of working in services relevant to the delivery of high quality Physiotherapy education.

All applicants will have expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and will have experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will also be a registered Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or international equivalent.

Lecturer (Teaching/Research) will hold or be near completion of a PhD and should have a research profile aligned to a Theme in the Institute of Environment, Health and Societies or one of the College’s Research Centres. Brunel University London is a research intensive University, therefore the successful applicant will be expected to produce high quality research and gain external research grants that contribute to the research profile of the Division.

Lecturer (Education) will have a first degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, PhD or appropriate professional qualification in a relevant discipline.

Under Brunel’s Academic Life Cycle policy, the appointment to Lecturer will be subject to a two year probationary period (with associated reduction in teaching duties) followed by a two year development period. Subject to meeting probationary and development targets, the post holder will be promoted to Senior Lecturer after four years.

An essential requirement is for the successful applicant to satisfy the requirements of checks by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
