Job Summary
You will assess and treat your own caseload of patients who may have complex presentations, and maintain your records as an autonomous practitioner. You will treat musculoskeletal outpatients who present a variety of acute and chronic pain patterns, significant physical impairments due to pain or injury, psychological issues, post-operative rehabilitation requirements. Also ensure effective communication where there is impaired, due to either both pain or fear. A high standard of clinical work is required which will also include active participation in clinical teaching and in-service training sessions.

Duties include

1. To be responsible for a defined area of working e.g. a section of a specialty, or a particular type of patient, working without direct supervision. Clinical / professional supervision takes the form of direct observation of practice or formal training / clinical reasoning sessions; advise and support is always available.

2. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your care

3. To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties, and to adhere to company equipment policy, including competence to use equipment and to ensure the safe use of equipment by others through teaching, training and supervision of practice.

4. To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support more junior staff to do likewise.

5. To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills.
